Results are calculated from the dimensions, quantities, units and allowances you enter. Inaccurate measurements or selections will produce inaccurate estimates. Measure the usable inside dimensions of each bed and confirm that all units are correct.
Soil behavior varies
Soil volume can change with moisture, compaction, settling, particle size and mixing. Beds may also have uneven bottoms, internal supports or existing material that changes the amount required.
Bags, prices and soil mixes
Bag labels, fill tolerances, product density, prices, taxes, delivery charges and availability vary by seller and location. Suggested soil-mix ratios are general starting points, not prescriptions for a particular crop, climate or soil condition.
